Todd Phelps (MPH – Healthcare Management) is Sisseton-Wahpeton Sioux coming from South Dakota. Todd comes to PIRE with a keen perspective on the intersectionality of ethnic culture and western research. During his Stanford University undergraduate career, Todd constructed a culturally sensitive depression scale with Native American youth. During his Columbia University graduate studies, Todd conducted cost-benefit analysis for treatment versus prevention for infectious diseases plaguing Native American tribes. He has worked with sensitive communities (HIV/Hep-C/LGBT Two-Spirit) in both the clinical and preventative realm and currently oversees quality initiatives and operationalizes workflows across 34 community health clinics. Todd is excited to collaborate with PIRE to achieve health equity for California Native Americans.
