Based in Berkeley, PIRE California was established in May, 2017 and is a 501(c) (3) non-profit research center linked to the Pacific Institute for Research and Evaluation, which was chartered in California over 40 years ago. The Board members of PIRE California are H. Westley Clark, MD, JD, MPH, Lawrence Green, DrPH, Harold Holder, PhD, Bob Saltz, PhD, and Elizabeth (Liz) Waiters, PhD.

Tobacco cessation and prevention for underserved Arab Americans: A pilot study . This study’s PI is Dr. Juliet P. Lee and its project director is Ms. Lina Ghanem.
Multilevel prevention of commercial tobacco-related harms on rural California Tribal lands . PI of this collaborative research project is Dr. Roland S. Moore. Dr. Juliet P. Lee and Dr. Daniel J. Calac of the Southern California Tribal Health Clinic are coinvestigators.
