Program Coordinator
Em is a Program Coordinator for PIRE’s LGBTQ+ Equity and Alcohol Study, which seeks to understand the role of local structural stigma in alcohol-related inequities among LGBTQ+ young adults across California. He has expertise in qualitative research methods and is passionate about conducting person-centered interviews, analyzing participant narratives, fostering community partnerships, and sharing research insights. His research interests include stigma, drugs, structural inequities, gendered violence, critical public health, and harm reduction. Em studied Anthropology at UC Berkeley, where he focused on critical medical anthropology and LGBT/Queer studies.
